How To Add An Image To A PDF Without Adobe Acrobat For Free
Insert a photo, logo, or signature image into any PDF for free, directly in your browser, no Acrobat needed.
Background
Adding an image to a PDF without Adobe Acrobat is entirely possible, directly in your browser, for free. Whether you need to insert a photo, a logo, a signature, or any other image, the Edit PDF tool gives you a canvas where you can place and adjust images on any page without any installs or sign-up.
There are two ways to work with images in a PDF: adding a new image to the page, or editing an existing image that is already in the document. Both are covered below.
- To add an image, open Edit PDF, use the Image tool to upload and place it on the page
- To edit an existing image, click on it and use the inspector panel to adjust its properties
- Everything runs locally in your browser, no file uploads, no account required
Add an image
Open the Edit PDF tool and upload your PDF. To add an image, select the Image tool from the toolbar content dropdown, choose your image file, and click the confirm button to render it on the page. The image is placed on the canvas and you can drag it to any position, resize it using the handles, and rotate it as needed.
Edit an image
To edit an existing image already in the PDF, click on it to select it. The right-side object inspector panel gives you precise control over the image properties while it is selected. You can move it, resize it, or rotate it from the inspector panel.
You can also use the right panel action buttons like the duplicate or delete buttons to quickly make a copy of the image or remove it from the page. Or the layer buttons to move it forward or backward in the layer stack if you have overlapping objects.
It's that simple! Once you are done, click Preview or Download to save your updated PDF. No watermark is added and no account is required.
Tips
- Supported formats: You can insert JPG, PNG, and other common image formats. For signatures or logos with a transparent background, use PNG to preserve the transparency.
- Clip Path: Some PDFs use clipping paths to create complex shapes, which can affect how images are displayed.
- Password-protected PDF? You will need the document password to open and edit it. The editor will prompt you when you upload the file.
